UISD Warns Against Teen Suicide

MIGUEL TIMOSHENKOV

LAREDO, TX – Amid the public health crisis affecting segments of society, United ISD joined the effort to prevent suicide, focusing on students.

At a press conference, it was noted that students are under pressure, experiencing a vulnerable stage where emotional changes and family conflicts are overwhelming them.

Dressed in purple and teal, school staff joined the Suicide Prevention awareness effort as an opportunity to inform students about resources before they take their own lives.

UISD is committed to disseminating information and providing assistance to students and staff in need of mental health services.

The District collaborates with local community partners to promote action and focus efforts on providing treatment to those affected, encouraging dialogue, sharing information, and addressing warning signs.

The community is invited to join these efforts and speak out against this public health crisis.

The goal is to educate and guide young people that suicide is not the solution to their questions or concerns.

Adolescence is a vulnerable stage where emotional changes due to academic pressure, family conflicts, or classmates subject them to incessant bullying.

Suicide has been one of the leading causes of death among adolescents.
