LAREDO, TX. – With federal funds announced by Federal Congressman Henry Cuellar, the Gateway Family Medicine Clinic will be built in the Mines Road area.
The project will be for $2 million and they are looking for a one-acre space to give certainty to the project, said Elmo Lopez, CEO of Gateway.
The clinic will help alleviate financial barriers to attending community health and receiving appropriate health care services.
“With medical insurance and without it, federal clinics will serve families,” said Congressman Cuellar. “I tell you in advance that there will be three clinics that will be built for the north of Laredo. It is an important investment that could take care of the health and lifestyle of our community.”
The parish priest of the Rev. José Maria Guevara Church said in his message that it is important that the community of his church and the citizens have access to health, considering the efforts of the leaders in their work for the community.
He said the Gateway mobile clinic parks in church yards where the community receives medical care.
López said that the expansion of the service will take place and thanked Congressman Cuellar for his intervention, who has worked to achieve objectives in the community.
