LAREDO, TX – Webb County Juvenile Prosecutor Marco Montemayor is organizing the Conference Against Juvenile Domestic Violence, which covers all types of physical and psychological abuse.
Montemayor, as a prosecutor, handles juvenile cases in the various emotional and sexual situations experienced by adolescents.
«In some cases, adolescents commit crimes as adults. Our mission is for them to be treated as adults,» said Montemayor. «Many times they attack within their family environment.»
There are cases where youth attack their parents, called child-parent violence, and where parents or caregivers attack youth.
The conference Montemayor is organizing will be held on October 1. School districts are being contacted to allow their students to join the presentation.
«We hope that through direct messaging, adolescents and young adults will become aware of their situation in the future if they become involved in violent activity,» said Montemayor. «We must be on the same page so they have the ability to stop those who are harassing them.»
In a family, when there are disagreements, violence can arise between siblings, to the point that their relationship is irreconcilable.
Another type of violence is common in adolescent relationships when the dynamics that arise are violent.
When a young woman allows her young partner to attack her for the first time, it will be a continuing dynamic, because he will not stop, and with this, he knows he will have control over her.
Among the types of violence are physical violence: hitting, pushing, biting, burning, and even the use of objects. It includes sexual violence, control of money, and a variety of situations that should not be ignored.
