LAREDO, TX – Two women remained in critical condition at a hospital after a shooting that left them injured at 7400 Michigan Street, north of Laredo.
At 7:00 a.m., emergency services were alerted that gunshots had been heard and someone was moaning about being shot.
Patrol officers arrived at the scene and found two injured women. They contacted Fire Department paramedics, who stabilized them and transported them to Los Doctores Hospital.
Investigators and officers from other police divisions took control of the apartment marked number 18, which had an open door and some clothing was visible.
Investigators and police secured the area to keep the scene intact.
Laboratory experts will try to obtain information that will allow them to determine what happened.
Police spokesman Jose E. Espinoza said there were no arrests yet.
Police are expected to speak with the injured women to gain an understanding of what happened.
They were searching the area for surveillance cameras that might indicate vehicles and cell phones that would have passed through the area after the shooting.
Police were also speaking with neighbors to gather information about the injured.
