LAREDO, TX – An average of 300,000 Mexican nationals were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine, said the Ambassador and Consul of Mexico in Laredo Juan Carlos Mendoza.
On the last cross-border day, the Department of Customs and Border Protection extended courtesy to compatriots from Nuevo Laredo, Nuevo León and other latitudes to protect their lives against the threat of death.
“More than 181,000 minors were vaccinated thanks to the alliance of CBP, ANAM, INAMI, Ciudad de Laredo and Vara Health,” said Ambassador Mendoza. «It had the full support of the government of Nuevo Laredo and its mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas.»
Ambassador Mendoza said that the inoculation was given without the need for a passport on the buses at the facilities of the Juárez-Lincoln and Colombia-Solidaridad Bridges.
“It was an amalgamation of kindness from authorities on both sides of the border,” Ambassador Mendoza quoted. «The return was immediate after inoculating those present on the buses.»
The first two thousand vaccinations were donated by Mayor Pete Sáenz in liaison with the Department of Health.
