LAREDO, TX. – Over the next decade, the Laredo-Webb region will receive $1.6 billion in investments in roads and highways.
In addition, continuity will be given to I-69, an interstate that begins at the World Trade Bridge and continues to Houston, Texas.
The investment was announced at a press conference indicating that the funds have already been allocated and will be applied as scheduled, David Salazar, TxDOT district engineer, said at a press conference.
“This I-69 project claims over $500
million dollars to mitigate the high vehicular load that moves through
this community.»
Also
he referred that numerous projects are being considered in I35 where it is extended to
three lanes on this highly busy highway.
I also know
works on projects to connect I-35 with I-69, which will reduce loads
of vehicles and will allow agile movements.
Salazar said that funds were assigned to each project considering something historical for this region.
He said that the vehicular load has grown and with the determined projects the current problems will be mitigated.
